You never heard of his name? You are right. Because he is not a fighter. He is a manager of mma in Stockholm. He has 60 fighters of Scandinavia making the management as Per Eklund, Joakim Engberg and many others. Manos talks about Swedish mma.

Per Eklund in UFC 95 ended in KO. The fight card was changed in 3 times as Jeff Lawson then Shanon G. then Devid Baron has hurt his foot. Dunham’s name was informed in 2 weeks before the fight. Eklund has ripped off 4 kg this time. He usually has no problem to making weight. He has a good wrestling coach Sandor and sparred with Engberg who had a fight for K1 Norrkoping. I don’t think he had problem in his training. You may remember in the fight Eklund has gotten the first hits in the early time of the round. I think that was effective although Eklund has stood up quick. Since that connection he dropped the speed, moved bad and he even had to make the unecessary sit-down. I think he was fighting in the distracted shape.,not much conscious. In the end he got KOed in the good counter strike which may happen in anybody’s fight. Yes, he will get another fight but I don’t know when. Eklund may need a good condition coach. This time against Dunham it turned unlucky,I could say.

Engberg is the top shape now. He says the condition is the best ever he had in his time. He is much motivated and training really hard. You can always find him in the gym. He is also good at study many techniques in the sparing and study mma videos too. His guys are supporting his training too. In April 26 UK show Strike and Submit he will going to fight a good grappler Eddie Ng who has defeated Jason Ball(13-7-0) in arm-bar. Kevin Reed fight in K1 Rumble Engberg had not much problem. You know Engberg has experienced more than 40 fights in Shooto which doesn’t count the professional record. So his record is 4-3-1. And he may need at least 5 wins to get into a big stage. I really want to help it. And I think he does.

I am also involved in K1 Rumble supporting Jorgen Kruth and Olle Larsen. Both guys are ready to go in MMA as you may know. Larsen has already showed a good ability. Jorgen Kruth is training in Pancarse with Omar. Many of K1 fighters are fighting in MMA now. I am also involved match making too. This time K1 in Norrkoping we put 4 MMA matches. It went succesive selling more than 3500 tickets. Specially MMA was popular. The bar went empty when the MMA match started. All the people drinking beer went down to the floor. Iril Latifi is an exciting fighter,isn’t he? I am managing him too. I expect him a big future. He is very talented but still has a big capacity left. He will be much better and will be one of the best in Europe soon. His record is not big. He needs more fight experience. The second fight went disq. Because he has broken the ring. Remember? To tell you the truth it is not easy to find his opponent. He has a good record in wrestling. Many fighters says yes for the fight in the first contact. But soon they call back and say injured or some other reason can not fight. This time the Portugal fighter Luis Silva came in 84kg for 95contract. He has the pro record 1-1-1. I don’t know what has happened with this guy. Iril has taken down him and pounded him in the 1Rd. The opponent didn’t show much in the fight been just dominated,you see. Iril became disappointed to the opponent not been prepared. I hope we can find a good opponent for him for the next fight. About the young boy Carlos Prada 18 years old in the opening match? He was good. After taking down controlling the positions he has connected good pounds, didn’t give much chance to the opponent Tobias Hellstrom and finsihed him in the beautiful triangle. I think Carlos has enjoyed the game. In the next K1 Rumble in Malmo we plan to make 4 to 6 MMA fights.

This guy is one of the best upcoming fighter. Usama also can promise a very hot fight. He dedicates his life to this sports. I must mention Reza Madadi’s name too. He was born as a fighter. You always enjoy his fight. Also Christopher Spang is a remarkable fighter. I like his fighting heart. I want them to win in the right way. I mean I like fighters who can express himself well in the fight and fight hot for the fans they pay for the tickets. I like high performance. My business is to support them to win and come up to the bigger stages like UFC.

The problem in my job? You need much much time and a big patience. Also you need a good contact to the fighters. You must know the person much how he likes and dislikes and what he can and can’t. I check their trainings, conditions and all. I want them to have 4 fights in a year which can keep fighter in the good shape. And it is not easy to make. It is difficult for Bantam class fighters now. They need fights but there’s not many shows for them. We have Superior Challenge, The Zone, K1 Rumble and Troeng’s Bahelar of Bothnia. And those shows bring 8 to 10 events in a year. Yes, it is getting activated in Sweden. I want to make good fightcards and make this sports more exciting and the business bigger.
