Hamid Corassani reports from Xtreme Coutoure
By Asgard • Aug 10th, 2008 • Category: ReportsI left City of Angels to land in Sin city! The heat cannot be described, the thermometer showed 115 Fahrenheit that is 46 degrees! Has been here in Las Vegas before and we can describe as “a digital desert containing everything from A to Z!
Checked in at the hotel and relaxed the first day in the Hotel, the heat is as I say insufferable and Air Condition is my best friend right now!
Took a taxi to Xtreme Couture where I met up with Martin Kampmann, we had talked before I came and everything was more or less fixed!
It was time for the Pro Training and on the training was fighters as Martin Kampmann, Frank Trigg, Mac Danzig, Jay Hieron, Robert Drysdale, Stephan Bonnar, Alex Shohnhauer, Dan Hardy, Dave Terell and others!
Ron Fraizer held in the training, and we did standing sparring for the whole session, I think we stopped after about 15 three-minute rounds with 30 seconds rest in between!
Everything felt really very good at the session since boxing is one of my strengths! I was sparring against all the above and one can easily say that rounds was really rewarding when all had different styles! As I have said it felt very good and after the session everyone was happy and satisfied!
After the session, we went to eat a few pieces at the Sushi Buffet and, of course, we competed over who could eat the most, vomit was very close!
The day after, it was time for training at 16.00 again! Martin explained that several fighters like Tyson Griffin, Forrest Griffin, Mike Pyle, Vitor Belfort whre not practicing right now because they either did not have a fight planned or just had a fight! Forgot to mention that Randy released a book recently and he was not there either, but went around and promoted the book!
The same guys who trained yesterday appeared at the session again today, we did MMA sparring with thin gloves!
Ron Fraizer held in the session and it was sparring all the way! MMA sparring is a different thing if you say so, it went very fast against some, and all guys have realy good takedowns! Once on the mat you have to get away away away otherwise it will be very heavy, they are good at controlling their opponents with high pressure and GNP!
What should I say, I learn so much from these beasts, and I forgot perhaps say that it is an honour to train on this carpet hahaha!
The remaining two days I trained most with Martin and Jay Hieron, we doing free training, rolling and tested funny techniques! Of course, it was Sushi buffet afterwards as any other day, vomit was even closer this time!
