David Bielkheden, loaded the exquisite take downs, the utilize massive pounds and the elabodate ground skills always fascinate MMA fans. His name has been known in Europe which endorse the promotor can’t find the opponet easy. This is the interview of David coming back from Cage Rage 17 in Wembley Arena in London.

Q: So you are the first Swedish fighter who has attended Cage Rage. Please explain what the fight between Steve Norman was.

David: I’ve not seen the fight video yet. So this is not 100% sure but let me tell you what I’ve remembered. It was 6 days notice. You know it is difficult to find my opponent for promotors. This time I decided to go whoever because my condition was ok and the media effect of CR is big.

Q: This time you fought in 77kg for the second time. Did you like it?

D: Yeah. I move faster in 77. But the diet was tough. I tried to cut down weight 5.5kg in 6 days in food. This was not a happy job. I ate protein drink and a few sushi in those last days. And I didn’t like it. Sitting in sauna sqeezing out water works better for me. So I keep on 77 for a while.

Q: Did you know about Norman?

D: I’ve never heard of his name. Arriving in arena I heard he is tall like 188cm 38 years old, being known in UK tv entertaiment program ” Gladiator” and the pioneer of UK martial arts like Omar experienced many different martialarts.

Q: So quite many audience knew him.

D: Right, he was the kind of local hero. We started to exchang strikes. He seems rather ok standing. I took down, passed and side mounted him. He resisted and we got a referee break. You know CR gives you early break. UK
likes standing fight more than ground work. The audience quality is similar to US. In the stand fight I ate a couple of hits from him and I hit a good left hook to him. I don’t remember much but in many actions I made take
downs for 4 to 5 times he fights back and I took mount and attempted kimura. On the kimura I even suceeded to sit on his head, the position was perfect. I sqeezed up the arm but he doesn’t tapp. I pulled up his arm to the full range but he doesn’t tapp.

Q: Mmm…scarely you drive the range to the full angle.

D: So I shifted it to armB. Then the time came.

Q: So you made 5 to 6 take downs and kimura and armbared him. Can I say the standings are almost even?

D: Yes, sort of. Then the 2nd RD after exchanging strikes I attemped single-L TD. But missed it and he came to my back shooting succur ball kick to my 4-points position which is illegal. I caught him in my guard and he started
G&P. So I caught him in triangle. I have tighten hard to finish him. But this guy gives no reaction. So I shifted to armB. He tapped. So I released him. Then believe! The referee said to continue the fight. I didn’t know what it’s happening. We have been training in many years. We know what tapp is. Later I remembered this shit had happened in Ramarho too. I have learned I won’t wait for the tapp next time. Instead I will break the arm.

Q: Referee should move to the good position to check the tap. This is not only for the fight but also to protect fighters from unneccesary injuries.

D: And referee told us to start from standing position. The referee is hopeless. I took down again and caught him in my guard and the time over. The audience started booing. 3RD I made TD a couple of times nothing much happened in the guard position. Then in my single-L TD Norman caught me in his guillotine. I lifted him up and slammed. But Norman came to my back. Time over.

Q: Can’t check the film but Norman fights back hitting a couple of good thing but sounds almost he rather ended in defensive and no TDs and no submissions to use. What about your G&P?

D: Sometime ago I’ve hurt my hand in the training. So I didn’t use it. Also he somehow used the defense to catch my body tight in his lomg legs. This is the second reason maybe.

Q: Although those submissions and TDs leading the game in many attacks and points, the judge went to Norman.

D: Incredible judge. Norman has even tapped. After the fight people came to me said they have seen the tapp. I wonder how they can do this kinda judge. It really pissed me off. Did you see Jean Silva match?

Q: Right. Silva although gassed out later but chased hard the opponent shooting submissions in good look and lost in the judge too. I felt sorry for him. What about the CR 17 download movie? Your fight was missing there.

D: No, there is no. I wanted people to see the match and judge too. But can’t do it. I want to know the reason why they have dropped my fight from the download the whole set of Cage Rage 17. I asked Cage Rage crew. They answer this and that. They have dropped my fight to Canal+ too. Very wierd indeed missing only my fight.

Q: Also I am interested in the judge papers how they have made Norman win in the 3RD scores. I’ve also read the event report from UK and your game there’s nothing to comfirm his win in there. It is a big question.

D: We will invastigate about the judge and protest to CR. They want me to fight again. But I say no until to give me the right answer.

Q: I understand. James Thompson has G&Pounded lost in TKO, Zelg has defeated Cutis Staut in armB, Yvel has returned good in TKO he was shaped and focused I think. UK people seems to be fond of Epstain like a bar brawl.
But those are still ok for me. I hope they will stop to close-up the face of the ring announcer with ear-ring. I don’t think he is so beautiful. How do you think CR event value?

D: It is the biggest mma event in Europe. The audience is similar to US. They are not familiar to ground skills. But it was well organized and a good pay. Freeman is a friendly person to remember my face talking nice to me.

Q: What about your training in BTT?

D: I am going to go there soon for my summer training. This time lots of Hilti students are coming with. So it will be fun. They give us wrestling 3 classes, Thaiboxing 3 classes, mma 3 classes, boxing 3 classes in a week.

Q: What is your main menu this time?

D: I will work hard to make the stamina with my new 77kg to adjust.

Q: You have signed in BTT. So you have a big backup. Please tell me the news about recent BTT which is expanding.

D: BTT has loaded some lighter weight guys. Milton Vieira and Buscape are really good on the ground. They are working hard to integrate the techniques. Paulo Filho? He is awsome. He becomes better and better. His ground is strong and clever. Me and Filho? He is too good for me.

Q: Paulo went to judge for the French guy Bouchelaghem in Pride which was unexpected for me. Something has happened?

D: Yes, Filho got flu. That’s why he couldn’t fight in the top gear. I think Filho is the best in the world 83kg. Arona? He is a very calm person and has many hobbies to enjoy life with surfin, motorcycle and many friends. He has
3 to 4 more fights in the DSE contract. I think Arona is going to fight in September Pride. Jucao is going to fight in DEEP soon.

Q: Who is the actual control tower of BTT?

D: Busta, Bebeo and Mario are controlling the team.

Q: Is it true BTT fighters pay 30% from the fightmoney to BTT?

D: No. It’s 20%. It is included all BTT trainings in 3 sessions a day with boxing, wrestling and all what you need for mma. I am quite satisfied with the training quality.

Q: How do you like Pride GP Open Weight semifinals?

D: I think Crocop will KO Silva. Minotauro will have a hard time to Josh. I can see the similar thing like Rico in Josh. But Minotaruro will defeat Josh.So I can’t see Minotauro to beat up Silva this time that I wanted to see.

Q: How did you think Fabricio vs Minotauro?

D: You know Fabricio is the world top black belt but he looked like a white belt against Minotauro.

Q: I agree. Fabricio has eaten many punishments from the king Minotauro. I heard that Minotauro was careful not to go direct to submit due to his skill. By the way it is happening many things in American mma. UFC is growing big with TUF. The PPV grows more than 40.000,I hear. It is easier to get sponsors and Spike TV is happy. So people has noticed they can make big money in mma. WFA Don King and IFL are running after hunting fighters in
the big capital.

D: Yes, it is exciting there and more activated. I think Americans are good at making business. Specially the PR technology is excellent in US so they make big money in the big show. I think US will lead the mma world soon.

Q: I agree. They run the mma biz in a new wave in a new strategy. In 5 years UFC made the biz growing from 200.000 to 3500.000 USD. And all of us knows the success was made of TUF the reality show. That program acquired the new
mma fans between 18 to 45 yrs Americans. Making mma show in team vs team is exciting ideas too which gives us the new flavor to enjoy mma. The market is expanding and the UFC payment grows and the Japanese gigantic mma show
PRIDE is not the top anymore. I feel mma is growing big in the world. What is your goal now?

D: I am waiting for a call from big stage. I want to fight in UFC and Bushido in the near future and l will tell you the good news soon.
